A Mississippi woman went into labor on the anniversary of Sept. 11, delivering the baby at 9:11 p.m. The significance of the baby’s birth carries even more weight — she weighed 9 pounds and 11 ounces.
Christina Malone-Brown was delivered via cesarean section at Methodist Le Bonheur Germantown Hospital in Germantown, Tennessee, on Wednesday.
“We have a true 9-11 baby,” her father, Justin Brown, told a local ABC affiliate.
The baby’s mother, Cametrione Malone-Brown, got to the delivery room just before 9 p.m.
“Time was just rolling and then all of sudden we heard the ‘wah!’ and next thing you know, they called it ‘9:11’ and then they got her on the table and all of a sudden, ‘Oh my God she weighs 9, 11,'” Brown said of his daughter’s birth.
Brown said he was in 9th grade at the time of the terrorist attacks; Malone-Brown said she was in 8th grade.
“A piece of joy from a day that’s so tragic,” Malone-Brown said.
