Pawlenty Trying Out for Vice Presidential Nod?

Fox News Sunday yesterday hosted two governors named Tim: Tim Pawlenty (R-MN) and Tim Kaine (D-VA). Both are mentioned as possible running mates for their party’s presidential nominees. You can get a flavor of the discussion here. The highlight comes around the 8:55 mark, where Pawlenty begins to lay into Senator Obama for failing to live up to his image:
One of the chief requirements for McCain’s vice presidential nominee will be to shine a light on Obama’s record. By that score, Pawlenty is on the right track, and he does it with a smile. Kaine offers an ineffective parry, when he says that scrutiny of Obama’s voting record is nothing more than ‘Washington political talk.’ This is sure to be a consistent line of attack from the McCain team, and Obama’s surrogates will surely respond more effectively in the future. Apart from that, Pawlenty seems an effective speaker, and he comes across as a pleasant personality.
