The third annual D.C. Farm to School Week kicks off Monday at 2 p.m. at Thurgood Marshall Academy Public Charter High School in Southeast D.C. White House pastry chef Bill Yosses will emcee the competition, in which chefs Kyle Bailey from Birch & Barley/ChurchKey, Will Artley from the Evening Star Cafe and Lauren Von Der Pool from Cafe Green will partner with high school students to make healthy dishes. Each team will be given 25 minutes to create a salad using its own equipment and a featured seasonal ingredient.
