Conservative Senate candidate slams Biden for trying to ‘take away’ her ‘blackness’ in video garnering national endorsements

A U.S. Senate candidate in Pennsylvania took aim at President Joe Biden for what she characterizes as him trying to “take away” her “blackness” because she is a conservative.

“I’m Kathy Barnette and I’m running to become the first Black Republican Woman elected to the US Senate. I’ll be the voice we need to defend our rights. And by the way, Joe, just because I believe in competent leadership doesn’t mean ‘I ain’t Black!’” Senate candidate Kathy Barnette posted to Twitter on Tuesday.

Her tweet was accompanied by a campaign video where she slammed Biden and Democrats for a pervasive cancel culture, which she said is working to cancel her as a black conservative.

“We’re told that black lives matter, except of course my black life, because I’m a black conservative. Radicals want to control and strip not just black conservatives, but all conservatives, of our identity because we dare to think for ourselves,” she said, followed by a clip of Biden saying black voters considering voting for former President Donald Trump “ain’t black.”

“The white man that sits at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue believes he has the power to take away my blackness because I’m a conservative, but I will keep on.”

Barnette previously ran for Congress in Pennsylvania last election cycle but was beaten by incumbent Democratic Rep. Madeleine Dean. She is an Armed Forces Reserves veteran and mother to two children she home-schools, according to her website.

“As Americans, we are blessed to live in the greatest country this world has ever known. And only in America can a little black girl who grew up on a pig farm, raised in a home with no insulation, no running water, an outhouse in the back, and a well on the side, overcome every obstacle and shatter every glass ceiling intended to hold her back. Joe Biden might not think I’m black enough because I won’t just shut up and do as I’m told, and D.C. might not be ready for me, but I’ve never been more ready for this fight,” she added in the video.

Barnette’s latest political endeavor has already garnered endorsements from former Georgia state Rep. Vernon Jones and others who support her conservative messaging.
