Man dies in crash after pursuit

A man was killed in a Loudoun County crash after a police chase that began in Brunswick, Md., according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office said 32-year-old Randy L. Sutler, of Lovettsville, Va., died after apparently losing control of his 1992 Jeep Wrangler and striking an embankment on Route 287 near Eagle Rock Lane on Monday night.

Sutler was being questioned by Burnswick police about vehicle tamperings when he suddenly fled in his vehicle shortly after 9 p.m., the sheriff’s office said. He fled into Virginia. Authorities pursued him and found his vehicle overturned. Sutler had been ejected from the Jeep and was pronounced dead at the scene.
