Barbra Streisand, who has been critical of John McCain in the past, wished him a speedy recovery the day after his brain cancer diagnosis was announced.
“Wishing you all the best Senator. Get well quickly. We need you!” the singer posted on Twitter and Instagram.
The Arizona senator announced he has glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer, on Wednesday.
During the 2008 election, Streisand was critical of McCain’s choice of Sarah Palin as vice president and backed Hillary Clinton, then Barack Obama.
In 2014, Streisand met with lawmakers to discuss women’s heart health on Capitol Hill, where the photo she posted was taken.
