Florida teenager faces charges for punching man in Trump Halloween costume

A 14-year-old Florida girl was charged with a misdemeanor after punching a man dressed as President Trump for Halloween.

The unnamed teenager attended a haunted house with several friends at the Collier County fairgrounds in Naples, Florida, on Saturday.

While waiting to enter the attraction, the girl spotted a man dressed as Trump waiting in line with his family. She then walked up to the man and punched him in the face. After striking the man in front of his family, she walked back to her friends laughing.

The altercation was filmed by the friends and posted to Instagram, according to a Collier County School system employee. However, the footage cannot be released until the case has been decided in the courts, the school system said.

The man reported the incident to the local sheriff’s department. The department followed up with the teenager to remove her from the fairgrounds and alerted her parents of the situation.

A deputy with the department claimed the girls “sole motivation was to strike ‘Trump.’” She faces misdemeanor battery charges for striking the man.
