The man who challenged Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz in the 2016 Democratic primary came back to troll the former chair of the Democratic National Committee as DNC officials prepared to vote for their new leader on Saturday.
“@DWStweets should return every last penny she was paid by DNC after her disgrace & resignation & while she was serving on Clinton campaign!”, liberal law professor Tim Canova tweeted.

“What a scam!”, he added in a second tweet.
Canova was responding to a blog post on Medium by the Young Turks, a progressive news organization, that says Wasserman Schultz remained on the DNC payroll for months after she resigned last summer following the WikiLeaks email dump that showed she and other DNC officials worked to undermine the presidential primary campaign of Sen. Bernie Sanders in favor of Hillary Clinton. Immediately after she resigned, Wasserman Schultz was named honorary chair of Clinton’s campaign.
“[I]t would be irresponsible of me to not note that by a simple place at FEC filings, former Chair, Debbie Wasserman Schultz and some of her senior staffers remained on payroll with the DNC until December, well past she resigned on July 25, 2016,” wrote Young Turks reporter Nomiki Konst.

Canova lost to Wasserman Schultz in August in a primary contest that represented a sort of rematch of the presidential primaries. Canova was backed by Sanders while Clinton had endorsed Wasserman Schultz.
