The Republican National Committee spent more than $271,000 at properties owned by President Trump in February, according to documents filed with the Federal Election Commission.
The documents, first highlighted by CNN, show the money from the RNC was spent at Trump properties in Miami, New York City, and Washington, D.C.
The vast majority of the RNC’s expenses at Trump properties were for venue rental and catering.
FEC documents also indicate the RNC began paying $37,000 per month in September to rent space at Trump Tower for the president’s re-election campaign. Those payments total $225,000 thus far, according to CNN.
In total since 2017, the RNC has spent almost $800,000 at Trump-owned properties, which includes its expenses for venue rental and catering, and the rent payments at Trump Tower, CNN reported.
Trump did not divest from his businesses after he was elected president, but instead placed his business holdings in a trust. His two sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, took over management of the Trump Organization.
