Production on actor Bill Murray‘s new film Being Mortal has been suspended, and a complaint has reportedly been filed against him for inappropriate behavior.
“Late last week, we were made aware of a complaint, and we immediately looked into it,” Searchlight Pictures said Wednesday in a letter to both the cast and crew of the film, per Variety.
“After reviewing the circumstances, it has been decided that production cannot continue at this time,” the company reportedly said.
“We are truly grateful to all of you for everything you’ve put into this project. Our hope is to resume production and [we] are working with Aziz and [producer Youree Henley] to figure out that timing. Production will be in touch with you to share details on the wrap, and we will let you know as soon as we have more information to share,” it added, according to a report.
The letter did not specify the complaint’s nature, per a report.
The movie was written by comedian Aziz Ansari, who is also co-starring with fellow comedian Seth Rogen, per a report. It will be Ansari’s directorial debut. Ansari and Rogan are reportedly not a part of the complaint.

According to Deadline, Searchlight Pictures had no comment, as they do not comment on ongoing investigations.
The complaint was reportedly filed last week, and production was stopped on Monday. Cast and crew found out about the suspension Wednesday night, according to the report.
Principal photography began March 28 but has been halted.
The production is based on Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in the End by Atul Gawande. Ansari is producing the project alongside Youree Henley.
It is unknown whether the 2023 release date will be affected by the unexpected obstacle.
