Al Gore: ‘Nobody speak truth to power’ like Greta Thunberg

Former Vice President Al Gore said he was “struck by” Greta Thunberg’s “potent and sobering call to action” after she slammed world leaders at the Davos World Economic Forum in Switzerland.

“Great to see @GretaThunberg at #WEF20 today,” tweeted Gore. “Once again, I was struck by her potent and sobering call to action. Nobody speaks truth to power as she does: ‘Our house is still on fire. Your inaction is fueling the flames by the hour.'”

Gore, 71, won the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize for his environmental activism and has compared climate change to 9/11 and Pearl Harbor.

Thunberg, 17, vaulted to international fame in 2019 after she globe-trotted in support of her climate change activism. She has attacked older generations for their failure to act quickly on climate change and stared down President Trump at a United Nations climate action summit. Thunberg barely lost the 2019 Nobel Peace Prize to Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.

Trump tweeted at Thunberg in November, telling the teenager to “chill,” but the president told reporters at Davos that he would have “loved” to meet Thunberg.
