Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani voluntarily surrendered at the Fulton County Jail on Wednesday after he was indicted alongside former President Donald Trump and several others for their alleged illegal efforts to overturn the 2020 election in Georgia.
Giuliani, a former attorney for Trump, was released the same day as his booking on a $150,000 bond, according to a consent form filed Wednesday.
The former mayor is facing 13 felony charges, including violating Georgia’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, soliciting a violation of oath by a public officer, and giving false statements.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis charged in a sweeping 98-page indictment that Giuliani had participated in racketeering by allegedly unlawfully urging Georgia lawmakers to violate their oath by appointing presidential electors and “knowingly” making false statements about voter fraud to lawmakers during House and Senate meetings.
A close confidante of Trump during the aftermath of 2020, Giuliani aided the former president with election-related legal pursuits in several battleground states. In Georgia, Giuliani appeared at a Senate hearing at one point and spoke for hours about purported fraud, including presenting surveillance from State Farm Arena and making the debunked claim that it showed “suitcases” full of illegal ballots.
Giuliani is also one of the unnamed co-conspirators in special counsel Jack Smith‘s federal indictment against Trump related to the 2020 election. The indictment is similar to that of Willis’s and also details Giuliani’s activity in Georgia in the aftermath of 2020.
“People like to say I’m different,” Giuliani told CNN on Wednesday ahead of his jail booking. “I’m the same Rudy Giuliani that took down the mafia, that made New York City the safest city in America, reduced crime more than any mayor of any city anywhere, and I’m fighting for justice.”

The former mayor was later swarmed by media upon exiting the jail, according to clips shared on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.
In one clip, Giuliani could be heard warning, “If they can do this to me, they can do this to you.”
