That ’70s Show actor Danny Masterson received 30 years to life in prison on Thursday.
The Hollywood star was convicted in May on two of the three rape counts he faced at his retrial. Masterson, 47, did not take the stand and has repeatedly denied sexually assaulting the women he was accused of raping.

In June 2020, Masterson was arrested by Los Angeles police over allegations that he had raped two 23-year-olds and one 28-year-old. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.

A judge had declared a mistrial in November of 2022 when a jury was deadlocked on a verdict for Masterson and his charges. He was later found guilty of two of the counts he faced in a trial that was held in May.
All three women who accused Masterson have claimed the Church of Scientology, which Masterson is a member of, was responsible for their hesitancy to tell the police their stories. The defendants claimed that they initially reported Masterson to Scientology officials but were advised not to report Masterson to law enforcement.
“They were raped, they were punished for it, and they were retaliated against,” Deputy District Attorney Reinhold Mueller told jurors at the trial. “Scientology told them there’s no justice for them.”
The Church of Scientology has denied these statements, calling them “uniformly false.”

“The Church has no policy prohibiting or discouraging members from reporting criminal conduct of anyone — Scientologists or not — to law enforcement,” read the statement.
That ’70s Show, in which Masterson played a central character, ran from 1998 to 2006 and had a total of 200 episodes.
