Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey announces ban on single-use plastic bottles — Gov. Maura Healey (D-MA) declared a state of emergency and asked the Federal Emergency Management Agency to issue a pre-disaster emergency declaration on Friday, Sept. 15, 2023, in Boston. On Monday, Sept. 15, Healey banned state agencies from buying single-use plastic bottles.

Gov. Maura Healey (D-MA) announced that Massachusetts agencies will no longer be permitted to purchase single-use plastic bottles.
