Lebron James to campaign with Hillary Clinton in Ohio

Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton will get a boost from three-time NBA champion Lebron James in Cleveland, Ohio, on Sunday, just two days before Election Day.

“At a public GOTV event, Clinton will lay out her plans to create an economy that works for everyone, not just those at the top, and her vision for an America that is stronger together, alongside LeBron James,” Clinton’s campaign announced Friday night in a press release.

James, who is a forward for the Cleveland Cavaliers, endorsed Clinton in an October op-ed.

“Hillary has always been a champion for children and their futures. For over 40 years, she’s been working to improve public schools, expand access to health care, support children’s hospitals, and so much more,” he wrote.

Sunday’s event, scheduled for 4:30 p.m. ET, was first reported Friday evening by New York Magazine and announced on Twitter by a Clinton campaign staffer in Ohio who used a GIF of James celebrating at Game 7 of the World Series.

Their event together at the Public Auditorium will be the first time the two will meet, an unnamed source told New York Magazine.

Clinton has her work cut out for her in Ohio, a battleground state where 18 electoral votes are at stake. She trails Republican rival Donald Trump 46.3 percent to 43 percent in a RealClearPolitics average of polls.
