Sewer project study begins

Howard County officials will begin a study of more than 10 miles of land for the construction of a sewer project.

The geotechnical study, which gathers information on the physical properties of soil and rock around the site, which will be used to determine the design of the Little Patuxent Parallel Sewer Project.

The sewer project is intended to provide additional sewer capacity for the area.

The study, expected to begin on or about July 30 and end in December, will begin at the Water Reclamation Plant in Savage. It will extend north through Savage Park, Town Center, Kings Contrivance, Owen Brown, Oakland Mills, Wilde Lake and Dorsey Search, Lake Kittamaqundi and Fairway Hills Gold Course.

Park users may experience minor disruptions, county officials said. Signs will be posted informing residents of the study.
