Megan Thee Stallion: GOP Kentucky attorney general 'no different than the sellout Negroes that sold our people into slavery'

Rapper Megan Thee Stallion took aim at Republican Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron during her performance on Saturday Night Live for his work overseeing the Breonna Taylor case.

“Daniel Cameron is no different than the sellout Negroes that sold our people into slavery,” the rapper said during the season premiere of SNL while performing her song “Savage.”

“We need to protect our black women and love our black women. Because at the end of the day, we need our black women. We need to protect our black men and stand up for our black men because, at the end of the day, we’re tired of seeing hashtags of our black men,” she said.

The words “PROTECT BLACK WOMEN” were shown on the stage’s screen behind Megan Thee Stallion. An audio clip of a Malcolm X speech also played during a portion of the show.

Late last month, Cameron announced that a grand jury indicted former detective Brett Hankison for putting Taylor’s neighbors in danger during the police shooting that left Taylor dead on March 13. However, the two officers involved were not charged.

The lack of charges against the officers for the death of Taylor sparked protests and riots in cities across the country.

Cameron’s office released the grand jury recordings last week, saying the public would be reassured his office presented a detailed case.

“I’m confident that once the public listens to the recordings, they will see that our team presented a thorough case to the Jefferson County Grand Jury,” Cameron said in a statement Friday.
