D.C.’s mayor is having his top advisors sign ethics pledges as part of a new ethics training program for all District city government employees that Gray has called for. The pledge includes vowing to avoid misuse of office for personal gain or the benefit of friends and family members, refraining from financial and representational conflicts of interest, and declining to receive gifts from those with business before the government. The D.C. Council also is considering a slew of ethics bills.
