Ohio Gov. John Kasich wants Donald Trump to apologize for the race-based criticism he directed at the presiding judge in a lawsuit regarding Trump University.
“Attacking judges based on their race &/or religion is another tactic that divides our country,” Kasich tweeted. “More importantly, it is flat out wrong.”
.@RealDonaldTrump should apologize to Judge Curiel & try to unite this country. #TwoPaths (2of2)

Judge Gonzalo Curiel has come under fire because of his Mexican heritage, and Trump claimed that the judge’s ethnicity prevents him from treating the candidate fairly. Curiel was previously targeted for assassination by Mexican drug cartels because of his work as a prosecutor, according to the New York Times.
Trump has not backed away from his race-based critiques, and has claimed that it doesn’t matter that the judge was born in Indiana because, “He’s a Mexican.”
Kasich has, thus far, refused to support Trump.
