The sixth bus of illegal migrants arrived in Washington, D.C., from Texas late Sunday night.
About 20 migrants were seen disembarking near Union Station in the nation’s capital.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said via a statement on Sunday that the busing of migrants is part of his strategy to address President Joe Biden’s “failure to secure the border.”
Abbott began sending buses of migrants to D.C. last week. Each of the migrants chose to travel to D.C.
The busing strategy has drawn both positive and negative reactions.
“Instead of being a Texas problem; he is in a small way making it Washington’s problem,” Gene Speer posted on Facebook.

Others on social media praised Abbott’s efforts, calling them “wonderful.”
Beto O’Rouke, the democratic candidate running to unseat Abbott, called the busing strategy a “political stunt” while appearing on MSNBC on Sunday. O’Rouke said it has done “nothing to improve the safety and security” of Texans.
Carol Miller also critiqued the strategy on Facebook: “Won’t solve a thing.”
Abbott has predicted even greater chaos along the border come May 23 with the termination of Title 42, the Trump-era public health policy that has permitted the United States to turn away migrants because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Last week, Abbott announced the end of mandatory inspections of all commercial trucks entering Texas from Mexico after getting Mexican governors from four states to agree to boost border security significantly, a move seen as the governor bypassing the federal government and taking the management of border security into his own hands.
