President-elect Trump’s portrait will go on display at the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C., just days before the Republican is sworn into office.
The framed picture will be installed at the downtown art gallery on Jan. 13, 2017 and will remain up for the duration of the month. The portrait was taken in 1989 by photographer Michael O’Brien. It shows Trump tossing an apple up with his right hand.
The museum has had the piece, along with four others showcasing Trump, in its collection since 2011.
A portrait of President Obama was put on display in January 2009 and January 2013 in honor of his inauguration for both his terms. The piece of art was designed by Shepard Fairey and was used in the Obama campaign’s “Hope” poster.
