Trump’s address Tuesday night surpassed 3 million tweets before its conclusion, breaking the record set by his joint address last year.
Former President Barack Obama set a record in 2015, when his State of the Union that year saw 2.6 million tweets.
Trump’s penchant for Twitter is well known, and the president says the social media platform allows him to spread his message to supporters without the filter of the media.
