President Clinton’s labor secretary believes President Trump is so mentally unstable that the 25th amendment should be used to remove him from office.
“This is why it is now time to seriously consider the 25th Amendment to the Constitution, which provides for removal of a president who is ‘unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office,'” former Labor Secretary Robert Reich posted on Facebook Tuesday.
Reich, who also served in the Carter and Ford administrations, said Trump is becoming more paranoid out of fear of becoming “weak and humiliated.”
“…[A]s Trump becomes more isolated, he becomes more paranoid – more fearful of becoming weak and humiliated. We know from Trump’s history that whenever he’s cornered he also becomes more aggressive. The further he falls, the more fragile his ego becomes, and the greater is the danger that he will do something desperate,” Reich added.
Reich’s latest call to remove Trump from office echoes his March call for his impeachment after Trump accused President Obama of wiretapping him.
“The question is no longer whether there are grounds to impeach Trump. The practical question is whether there is the political will. As long as Republicans remain in the majority in the House (where a bill of Impeachment originates), it’s unlikely,” Reich said in a March tweet.
By my count, there are now four grounds to impeach Trump. The fifth seems to be on its way. pic.twitter.com/PfAw0a0hfU
