Tucker Carlson: Black Lives Matter movement ‘much more popular’ than Trump

Fox News’s Tucker Carlson warned that the Black Lives Matter movement is now significantly more popular than President Trump.

Carlson opened his show on Monday night by referencing a Rasmussen poll that was published nearly a week ago. The poll, as Carlson described on-air, showed that 62% of likely U.S. voters have a favorable opinion of Black Lives Matter, while 32% said they have a very favorable view of the movement.

“And not slightly more popular than the president,” Carlson said. “Much more popular.”

Comparatively, as the Fox News host noted, the same poll found Trump’s approval rating was nearly 20% behind at 43%. Carlson then went on to list other politicians and political entities who have a lower approval rating than Black Lives Matter.

“Black Lives Matter is far more popular than Joe Biden is too,” he explained. “It’s more popular than Americans religious institutions, all of them. It’s more popular than the media, the Congress, and big business. Black Matters is more popular by double digits than both the Democratic and Republican parties. It is almost as popular as the U.S. military. It is much more popular than the pope.”

He warned viewers about the power the movement wields given that it is “not a collection of marchers with signs, it’s not a conventional political lobby like Planned Parenthood or the NRA.”

“Black Lives Matter is far more ambitious than that. It is working to remake the country and then to control it. It’s a political party. As of tonight, Black Lives Matter may be the most single powerful political party in the United States. Nobody says that out loud, but politicians understand it perfectly well,” Carlson said.
