Clinton PAC goes nuclear, says Cruz likes Nickelback

Democratic super PAC Priorities USA thinks that defeating Ted Cruz in a general election should be easy because the GOP primary candidate “reportedly likes Nickelback,” among other things.

The group put out a new ad titled “How to Stop Ted Cruz,” which mimics the opening scroll from “Star Wars” movies and lists out all the reasons people should vote against Cruz. Those reasons include that he wants to eliminate the Department of Education, that Cruz’s old roommate said he is a “nightmare of a human being” and that Cruz “reportedly likes Nickelback.”

The ad is a response to the Cruz campaign’s recently released ad, “War room,” which depicts the Clinton campaign sitting around a table struggling to create a strategy to stop Cruz.

Although Donald Trump currently leads the GOP primary field, the Clinton team has also been preparing to do battle in a general election with Ted Cruz, as Cruz is hoping he gets the nomination after a contested convention in July. Recent polls show that Clinton would beat both candidates in a general election.
