Hillary Clinton says she would support Bernie Sanders

Hillary Clinton said she will support the Democratic presidential nominee — even Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders gets the nod — if it means stopping President Trump from winning reelection.

During an interview about her Hulu documentary, Clinton told reporters at the Berlin International Film Festival that she would “wait and see” who the party nominates before making any official endorsements but indicated she would back anyone running against Trump.

“I will support the nominee, and it won’t surprise you to hear me say that I think that it’s imperative that we retire the incumbent,” Clinton said.

The former secretary of state outraged some of Sanders’s supporters after her Hulu special revealed her disdain for the Vermont senator. During the four-hour documentary, she claimed that “nobody likes” Sanders. She pointed to his Senate record and claimed it was proof that “nobody wants to work with him.”

Clinton defeated Sanders for the Democratic nomination in 2016 only to lose to Trump in the general election. Sanders is the front-runner in the 2020 contest so far after winning New Hampshire and running away with the Nevada caucuses. Clinton’s documentary, Hillary, will begin streaming in March.
