ICE issues detainers for illegal immigrants accused of raping 10-year-old girl

Three brothers, at least two of whom are in the United States illegally, were charged with raping a 10-year-old girl in Louisiana.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement issued detainers for two of the brothers, 35-year-olds Raul Paz-Perez and Wilmer Paz-Perez of Honduras, while a third brother, Elder Paz-Perez, 31, is still at large. It is unclear if the third brother is in the country legally.

The trio reportedly offered money to a 10-year-old girl in Kenner, Louisiana, in exchange for sex. The girl, who is the daughter of Elder Paz-Perez’s girlfriend, denied the offer and ran to a bedroom and locked herself inside.

“After defeating the lock, the three entered the room, undressed the victim, held her down and sexually assaulted her,” local police said in a statement.

Two of the brothers were arrested Saturday, hours after the girl told a relative of the incident. All three brothers were living in the same home as the 10-year-old victim.

Other children also live in the residence, and police are investigating whether they were assaulted.

Officials are still looking for the third brother, Elder Paz-Perez.

“We don’t know where he is,” Lt. Michael Cunningham told the New York Post. “He may be out of state.”

Raul and Wilmer Paz-Perez are being held without bail.
