President Trump tweeted against former Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore on Wednesday after the controversial former judge voiced interest in running again.
“I have NOTHING against Roy Moore, and unlike many other Republican leaders, wanted him to win. But he didn’t, and probably won’t,” Trump tweeted, adding “Roy Moore cannot win, and the consequences will be devastating….Judges and Supreme Court Justices!”
…If Alabama does not elect a Republican to the Senate in 2020, many of the incredible gains that we have made during my Presidency may be lost, including our Pro-Life victories. Roy Moore cannot win, and the consequences will be devastating….Judges and Supreme Court Justices!

The president’s tweet comes after his son, Donald Trump Jr., went after Moore on Twitter, telling him “it’s time to ride off into the sunset, Judge.”
You mean like last time? You’re literally the only candidate who could lose a GOP seat in pro-Trump, pro-USA ALABAMA. Running for office should never become a business model. If you actually care about #MAGA more than your own ego, it’s time to ride off into the sunset, Judge. https://t.co/Twg9isFRkY

Moore lost against Democrat Doug Jones in Alabama’s 2017 special election by about 20,000 votes. Moore’s loss was attributed to being accused of initiating sexual encounters and going on dates with girls aged 14 to 18 while he was in his 30s. Moore denied the allegations.
There are currently 53 Republicans in the Senate and the GOP is looking to take back Jones’ seat in the deep red state in 2020.
