Omarosa says new tape shows staffers talked about Trump’s alleged use of the N-word

Omarosa Manigault Newman released a new recording of her conversations with Trump campaign staffers that she says supports her claim that those staffers were worried about an alleged tape of President Trump using the N-word.

Manigault Newman says a new tape aired on CBS Tuesday morning shows that former Trump campaign spokeswoman Katrina Pierson and former assistant to Eric Trump, Lynne Patton, were discussing whether he said the N-word.

“I am trying to find at least what context it was used in to help us maybe try to figure out a way to spin it,” Pierson said in the new tape.

Manigault Newman said Patton can also be heard on the tape talking about Trump denying using the N-word, although the quotes alone don’t specifically say what she’s talking about.

“I said, well, sir, can you think of anytime that this might have happened and he said, ‘no,'” Patton said.

“Well, that is not true,” Manigault Newman responded on the tape.

“No, he said it. He is embarrassed,” Pierson added.

Before the recording’s release, Pierson denied the conference call took place on Fox News on Monday night. Trump also denied using the n-word Monday night.

“That did not happen. It sounds like she’s writing a script for a movie,” Pierson said.

Manigault Newman told CBS she recorded her conversations “because the truth matters.”

“If I didn’t have this tape, you all would probably be wondering if, in fact, they did talk about it,” she said, warning that she has proof of every quote in her book.
