The View host Whoopi Goldberg blasted Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her progressive allies for attacking Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.
The 63-year-old host questioned whether the New York Democrat and her allies had actually done anything to convince moderates to vote for their policy proposals.
“If you are not going to do that, you’re not allowed to bitch about this,” Goldberg said after host Meghan McCain said Ocasio-Cortez and her allies were not caucusing and recruiting other members to vote with them.
Ocasio-Cortez, who won an upset primary for her New York district, has formed a friendship with three other progressive freshman congresswomen: Rep. Ilhan Omar, Rep. Ayanna Pressley, and Rep. Rashida Tlaib. The four have been termed the “squad” and have teamed up to try and enact a progressive agenda.
Goldberg specifically addressed the fallout of Ocasio-Cortez leading an unsuccessful attempt to torpedo an emergency border relief bill which gave $4.6 billion to help illegal immigrants.
The host along with other members of The View took offense to Ocasio-Cortez suggesting Pelosi was racist for dismissing her allies as just “four people.”
