One of the busiest areas of London was evacuated after an unexploded bomb from World War II was uncovered at a construction site.
London’s Metropolitan Police said a “suspected World War II ordnance” was found in Soho, a crowded district of the city packed with bars, restaurants, and shops. Police cordoned off multiple blocks and were seen moving people away from the area the suspected explosive was discovered.
The cordens are in place between Oxford St, Charing Cross Rd, Shaftesbury Avenue, Lexington St & Poland St.
All roads in between those mentioned are closing & evacuations will be taking place shortly. 2/2

In December, Italy conducted its largest peacetime evacuation in history after workers discovered an unexploded bomb from World War II. About 54,000 people of the 80,000 who live in the Italian city of Brindisi were evacuated as police removed and defused the ordnance.
