Cops: Man smuggled 200 cigarette cartons into NY

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — A western New York state man has been arrested after police say they caught him trying to smuggle 200 cartons of cigarettes into the state.

The Erie County Sheriff’s Office said 43-year-old Hamid Thompson of Buffalo was arrested Thursday morning after they stopped him on the New York State Thruway.
