A campaign in the United Kingdom called “Clap for Boris” has been launched to coordinate a round of applause for the prime minister as he battles the coronavirus.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson spent the night in the intensive care unit Monday after testing positive for the coronavirus. Doctors advised the Conservative Party leader to be moved to the ICU as a “precautionary step,” according to his spokesman.
“The Prime Minister has been stable overnight and remains in good spirits,” the spokesman said Tuesday.
“#ClapForBoris” is now trending on social media as users encourage Britons to show support for their prime minister by clapping at 8 p.m. Tuesday night local time.
