California Gov. Jerry Brown on Tuesday criticized Fox News reporter Griff Jenkins as he asked Brown to defend a state law that’s designed to prevent local officials from cooperating with federal officials who are trying to detain and deport illegal immigrants.
Jenkins asked Brown to respond to complaints from local officials in California that the statewide law favors illegal immigrants over state residents.
“Absolutely false, and I’d like to see a scintilla of evidence that would support such an outlandish Fox proposition,” Brown replied. “We’ve heard of fake news, we have Fox News too.”

When Jenkins quoted an example of a local complaint, Brown said “that’s a lie,” and said many of these sorts of complaints tend to be “inflammatory remarks” that aren’t accurate.
Later, when asked what he would say to families of victims of violence done by illegal immigrants, Brown accused Fox of focusing too much on the story.
“I think Fox News exploits this issue. We have criminals that do horrible things all the time,” Brown said.
“I think to scapegoat the immigrants by these very biased stories …” Brown continued. “With all due respect sir, I want to protect people, and for you to say that we don’t care about victims …”
As he walked away, Brown said, “Fox nonsense.”
Brown is under pressure from President Trump, who said Wednesday morning that many local officials in California are rebelling against the state law in the face of violence done by illegal immigrants. The Department of Homeland Security is also negotiating with Brown to allow state National Guard troops to help border officials enforce U.S. immigration laws.
There is a Revolution going on in California. Soooo many Sanctuary areas want OUT of this ridiculous, crime infested & breeding concept. Jerry Brown is trying to back out of the National Guard at the Border, but the people of the State are not happy. Want Security & Safety NOW!
