The son of Louis Farrakhan, the controversial leader of the Nation of Islam, died Saturday at his home in Phoenix.
Louis Farrakhan Jr., 60, died “peacefully in his sleep,” a statement from the Nation of Islam said.
Police were called to the family’s home Saturday night for a death investigation, a spokeswoman for the Phoenix Police Department told the Arizona Republic. Police saw “no obvious signs of foul play.”
The Nation of Islam’s statement said Farrakhan Jr. had a previous heart condition.
