SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) — An Associated Press analysis of Illinois Department of Corrections data found that 11 inmates who escaped from prison or one of the system’s adult transition centers — including two who got away in the mid- to late-1990s — have been captured in the past two years. Questioned about three others listed in the data as “escaped,” a Corrections spokesman said officials have confirmed that they are dead.
