George Conway: Michael Cohen did do ‘bad things related to Trump’

George Conway, husband of White House counselor Kellyanne Conway, shot back at President Trump’s claim that his former personal attorney Michael Cohen “did bad things” that had nothing to do with him.

Ahead of Cohen’s appearance before the House Oversight Committee Wednesday, Trump claimed his former “fixer” lied in order to “reduce his prison time” and did “bad things unrelated to Trump.”

“He also did bad things related to Trump,” Conway tweeted about Cohen in response to Trump’s tweet.

Conway, who is a lawyer, also responded to a tweet from April 2018 when Trump first denied he had knowledge of the $130,000 payment Cohen made to porn star Stormy Daniels in exchange for her silence on an alleged affair with the president.

Cohen’s prepared testimony before the Oversight panel claims that Trump was aware of the payment to Daniels. Cohen will also share a check that he claims partially reimbursed him for the hush money payment.

“So who’s the liar?” Conway, a frequent Trump critic, tweeted.

Cohen, who was disbarred on Tuesday, pleaded guilty to lying to Congress and also to campaign finance violations concerning hush-money payments made during the 2016 campaign to two women, including Daniels, who claimed they had affairs with Trump. Cohen was sentenced in 2018 to serve three years in prison.

Trump has denied both affairs.
