WATCH: Mueller stutters, stumbles, and mishears questions in House testimony

Special counsel Robert Mueller stumbled, stuttered, and asked for questions to be repeated during his testimony in front of the House Judiciary Committee Wednesday morning.

Mueller testified about his two-year investigation, which concluded that neither the president nor any member of his campaign knowingly conspired with Russia ahead of the 2016 presidential election. The 448-page report listed multiple actions the president took that could have been considered obstruction of justice, but Mueller did not determine whether Trump did in fact obstruct justice due to a Department of Justice guideline against indicting a sitting president.

During the hearing, Mueller repeatedly asked for members of the committee to repeat their questions and at other times appeared as though he didn’t know key pieces of information about the investigation.

The special counsel has not testified in front of Congress in at least six years, former President Barack Obama’s adviser David Axelrod noted, adding that he “does not appear as sharp as he was then.”
