A southern California criminal defense attorney is being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department for allegedly advocating that black people kill police officers and offering free representation to anyone willing to do so.
Screenshots of Instagram posts from an account tied to attorney Mark McBride were obtained by Fox 11.
“It won’t stop until black people start murdering cops, which they should do — often and with great relish. These c—sucking, low-iq, can’t get into law school jarheads need an asphalt nap, during which they bleed out on the streets where they’re shot down. I would have no problem with them. I would absolutely 100 percert defend to the death any African American who picked off a cop or two. It’s time. It’s well past time,” one screenshot read.

Another message said, “It wouldn’t be the first time I’ve defended ‘terrorists.’ … sign me up pro bono for somebody’s granddad putting a couple hollow points right between the eyes of these PTSD-addled rednecks. I’d take one or two pro bono.”
Protesters across the country have been advocating for police reform in the United States after the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis police custody two weeks ago. Many officers have been injured in the resulting unrest, and several have died.
Fox 11 reporter Bill Melugin said he went to the address that is listed on McBride’s website as his office. McBride was not there, and the owners of the property said they had never leased a space to someone by the name of Mark McBride.
Melugin wrote: “We eventually found McBride in a small room at a house in San Gabriel where his bar license lists his current office location. A very disheveled looking McBride came out of the room and shook his head yes when I asked him if he is Mark McBride. When I told him who I was, and the story I was working on, he claimed to have not received any of my messages, told me he had nothing to say, then turned around, closed the door, and refused to make any further comment. At no point did he deny authoring the posts.”
McBride’s bar license is still active, but it has been suspended three times since 2018 for failure to pay child or spousal support.
The Washington Examiner reached out to the California State Bar for comment.
