Two former 2020 Democratic presidential candidates are the favorites to be the Democratic vice-presidential pick, according to a new poll.
The survey conducted by Emerson College found 20% of Democratic primary voters want California Sen. Kamala Harris to be vice president, while 18% want entrepreneur Andrew Yang.
Harris dropped out of the 2020 presidential race in December, and Yang ended his campaign earlier this month after the New Hampshire primary.
Another 16% said they want Hillary Clinton to be picked for the position, while 23% of voters said “someone else” other than the eight people who were listed as choices. Other possibilities included failed Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams and Beto O’Rourke, a former Texas congressman who also had a short-lived campaign for president this cycle.
The poll, conducted between Feb. 16-18, surveyed 573 Democratic primary voters. The survey had a margin of error of 4 percentage points.
Separately, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders was the favorite for the Democratic presidential nomination at 29% among those polled. Former Vice President Joe Biden came in second with 22%, and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg was third with 14%.
