Liberal political commentator Bill Press said Tuesday Democrats would make it their goal to impeach President Trump on their first day in power if they were to retake the majority in the House of Representatives during the 2018 midterm elections.
Press said on MSNBC the gerrymandering case in Pennsylvania, which he claims will get rid of more partisan district lines, is the first step towards getting to impeachment in the future.
“Susan, [impeachment] will be day one of the new Congress, I think, if Democrats take control,” Press told USA Today reporter Susan Page who posed the question at the “Morning Joe” roundtable.
Press made his comments alongside fellow guest California billionaire Tom Steyer, who launched an ad campaign calling on Congress to act on impeaching Trump.
