President Trump will be voting early and in person this weekend in Florida, where he is a legal resident.
White House deputy press secretary Judd Deere told the Washington Examiner on Thursday that the president will vote in person on Saturday in West Palm Beach.
Trump’s schedule shows plans for at least two campaign stops in the Sunshine State this Friday. The first is a rally in The Villages, home to a massive age-restricted retirement community. He is also expected to hold a rally in Pensacola later that evening.
Trump announced his move from his longtime home of New York to Florida last year. At the time, he blasted New York’s taxes over Twitter.
“I pay millions of dollars in city, state and local taxes each year, I have been treated very badly by the political leaders of both the city and state. Few have been treated worse,” he said.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo responded to the news of Trump’s departure by saying, “Good riddance.”
The president will be voting just over a week before the Nov. 3 election. Current polling puts Joe Biden ahead nationally and in many key battleground states. A RealClearPolitics average of national polls has the former vice president leading Trump by a 7.9-point margin. In Florida, the polls are much closer, and an average of the surveys only shows Biden leading by a 2.1-point margin.
