Abby Huntsman is leaving The View after two seasons to help run her father’s gubernatorial campaign in Utah.
Huntsman, 33, joined the ABC talk show in September 2018. She will be a senior adviser to her father, Jon Huntsman Jr.’s campaign, and will commute to Utah.
“Family has always been my number one priority, and is where I need to be focused at this time. We are incredibly close and are there to support and help each other when it matters. It’s not often there is a political campaign that involves someone you love and believe in, but this is one of them,” she said in a statement to People magazine.
Her final appearance co-hosting The View will be Friday, according to ABC News.
She shared a photo on Instagram over the weekend while she accompanied her father on the campaign trail.
“Back to my Utah roots campaigning with this guy,” she wrote. “Democracy in action.”
Huntsman Jr., 59, resigned as ambassador to Russia in October. He was previously governor of Utah from 2005 to 2009 before becoming ambassador to China. He ran as a candidate in the 2012 Republican presidential primary race but withdrew after the New Hampshire primary.
