Actor Mike Myers reprised his famous “Austin Powers” character, Dr. Evil, in a skit Wednesday mocking the high turnover in the Trump administration where he claimed to be the latest person to get fired.
The sketch, which took place as a fake interview on NBC’s “Tonight Show” with Jimmy Fallon, the movie villain claimed he was in the running to be “secretary of evil,” but that role was filled by Steve Bannon, Trump’s former chief strategist.
He also quipped that the border wall with Mexico was his idea, albeit one that was a moat filled with spiky blowfish and should be paid for by Alec Baldwin, a fellow actor who often portrays Trump on “Saturday Night Live.”
Following the presentation of a “Make the World Evil Again” hat, the sketch ended with a 2020 presidential election pitch: Dr. Evil running with Facebook co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
Myers, himself an “SNL” alum, portrayed Dr. Evil in all three of the “Austin Powers” spy comedy movies in the late 1990s and early 2000s. He also played a number of other roles in the films, including the eponymous hero.
