Ukraine fundraiser raises $2 million under guise of sending Putin to Jupiter

As the war in Ukraine nears its three-week mark, protests against the Russian invasion and President Vladimir Putin continue to rise — but one pro-Ukraine fundraiser is hoping to reach new heights.

The “Send Putin to Jupiter” fundraiser is asking people to donate money to support Ukrainian Armed Forces and to aid in the country’s rebuilding efforts — all under the guise of sending the Russian president to outer space.

“Donate to help us build a rocket that will send a bloody dictator far far away,” the fundraiser stated. “Why Jupiter? It is a gas giant and the largest planet in the solar system.”

Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov tweeted the fundraising website link to SpaceX CEO Elon Musk on Monday, following Musk’s challenge to Putin to single combat.

“We can send him to Jupiter, just in case,” Fedorov said.

As of Tuesday morning, the fundraiser had raised more than $2 million of its $100 million goal.
