President Trump on Tuesday wished his disgraced former national security adviser Michael Flynn good luck ahead of his sentencing Tuesday for admitting to lying to the FBI about his contacts with Russian officials.
Trump appeared eager to see what Flynn will say, if anything, at the sentencing about alleged Russian collusion with the Trump campaign.
“Good luck today in court to General Michael Flynn. Will be interesting to see what he has to say, despite tremendous pressure being put on him, about Russian Collusion in our great and, obviously, highly successful political campaign. There was no Collusion!” Trump wrote.

Special counsel Robert Mueller, who is investigating Russia’s connections to Trump’s campaign, released a redacted memo from January 2017 on Monday detailing the FBI’s interview with Flynn.
Flynn lied about his contact during the presidential transition in 2016 with the Russian ambassador to the United States. He also denied talking with the Russian official about Obama administration policies.
Flynn pleaded guilty in December 2017 and agreed to cooperate with investigators.
Mueller’s office and Flynn’s legal team have both asked for little to no jail time, citing Flynn’s “substantial assistance” with ongoing investigations.
