Rep. Sean Duffy, R-Wis., said he would place his bets on President Trump over former Vice President Joe Biden to win a physical fight between the two.
“As a sitting vice president he had a chance to run for president but he was frightened away by Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton,” Duffy told Fox News on Thursday. “He didn’t have the backbone to run for president.”
Biden decided not to run in the 2016 presidential election, citing the death of his son Beau in 2015.
“I would bet on Donald Trump whether they’re back in high school or today to take out Joe Biden, but this is ridiculous. When you can’t win the debate, you go to violence,” Duffy continued.
Biden said Tuesday he could have “beat the hell out of” President Trump in high school, referring to the 2005 “Access Hollywood” tape in which Trump was caught on a hot mic talking about inappropriately touching women without their consent.
Trump fired back Thursday morning via Twitter, calling Biden physically and mentally weak.
