The Alabama Senate special election in 2017 was a fluke. A Democrat wasn’t supposed to win. Yet, Doug Jones narrowly defeated Roy Moore to become the first Democrat to win a U.S. Senate seat in the state since 1992. In 2020, however, it’s a much different story. It’s not so much a question on whether Jones will lose, but who he will lose to: the newcomer Tommy Tuberville, who coached college football at programs like Auburn and Ole Miss, or the seasoned veteran, Jeff Sessions.
The latter of the two is my guest today. Sessions is running for his old seat after being fired from his post as attorney general by President Trump in November 2018.
On today’s show, we’re going to discuss why Sessions is running again, how he views the president and his agenda, and the challenges that face the country.
