Conservative commentator Mark Levin claimed former President Barack Obama has abused the black community more than any modern politician.
He delivered a fiery retort Thursday evening to Obama after the first black president delivered the eulogy at the funeral of the late civil rights movement leader and former Rep. John Lewis in Atlanta in which he spoke about protecting voting rights for minorities and the law enforcement’s use of force.
“Obama has milked this country for everything it’s worth. He’s milked it for maximum power,” Levin told Fox News host Sean Hannity. “He and his wife are now worth tens of millions, if not hundreds of millions, of dollars, having sold their presidency after they left office. He gives these speeches now and then. He’s abused the black community more than any modern president that I’m aware of, or any modern politician, for that matter.”
Levin, a radio show host who served as chief of staff to the attorney general in the Reagan administration, questioned how many black people have been helped by Obama and Joe Biden, Obama’s vice president who is now the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, and asserted that President Trump hired thousands of black people in the private sector.
He argued this as Trump’s critics view his actions and words as playing on racist fears and Biden holds a sizable lead over the incumbent in polls with less than 100 days until Election Day.
Levin said Obama “gives a good pastor-like speech,” but “when the rubber hits the road, he’s nowhere to be found.”
