A Miami police officer spotted wearing a mask supportive of President Trump while in his uniform received a public critique from his boss on Tuesday.
Speaking with CBS 4 Miami, police chief Jorge Colina said a photograph of police officer Daniel Ubeda wearing a Trump mask and his uniform inside a polling station in Florida was “unacceptable” behavior.
“We are aware of the photograph being circulated of a Miami Police officer wearing a political mask in uniform,” the Miami PD tweeted on Tuesday. “This behavior is unacceptable, a violation of departmental policy, and is being addressed immediately.”
Colina did not immediately announce what Ubeda’s punishment would be.
Miami Mayor Francis Suarez said that Ubeda was actually voting himself and was not on the clock when he was seen wearing the mask. Suarez noted that officers are not permitted to wear clothing displaying party affiliation while working.
